Amanda Burns

I hold a Bachelor in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master in Social Work from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. I am also a Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) and just received my preliminary chemical dependency counselor assistant (CDCA) licensure.

I specialize in working with both children and adults who experience anxiety, depression, and many other challenges. My approach tends to gravitate towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based therapies, but I am flexible and tailor my methods to meet each client’s unique needs.

With almost four years of experience as a counselor, I bring a wealth of knowledge and compassion to my practice. While my schedule has limited openings, I want you to know that our dedicated team at Mares Cares is here to support you, and someone will always be available to help you.

Outside of work, I am a mom of two, and we love spending time outdoors. Whether it's camping, fishing, attending sporting events, or going on trips and adventures, we cherish these moments. We also enjoy spending time with family and friends, making the most of every opportunity to create lasting memories.

I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey to well-being! Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
