Heather Sommers

I hold the credential of LCDCIII and am currently awaiting confirmation of my Master of Social Work. With a specialization in addiction and trauma, I've had the opportunity of working in the substance use field for several years. My experience spans four years with differing populations.

 

For the past year, I've been dedicated to serving individuals aged 13 and up at Mares Cares. In my approach to counseling, I firmly believe in the importance of being a reliable support system for my clients. However, I also recognize the necessity of being rigorously honest, even when the truth may be difficult to hear. It's a philosophy I hold close to my heart as I walk alongside individuals on their journey towards healing and growth.

For those wondering about availability, I have openings on Fridays, and some on Tuesdays/Wednesdays throughout the month.

Outside of my professional life, my greatest joys come from spending time with my children and family. But when I do find a rare moment of free time, you'll likely find me immersed in a good book, exploring new worlds and perspectives.
